The Floods of 2024
Sakib Hossen
The floods of twenty-twenty-four,
Like none we’ve ever seen before.
The rivers rise, the skies they cry,
And homes are swept as waters fly.
In city streets and country’s span,
The waves take over all of man.
Districts drown and lives are torn,
Each day begins with hope forlorn.
But still we stand, though waters rage,
Together, we’ll turn a hopeful page.
For after rain, the sun will glow,
And seeds of strength we’ll surely sow.
Though floods return and tears may fall,
Our spirit rises, above it all.
The lands will heal, the skies will clear,
And Bangladesh will persevere.
